The western portion of Colorado Springs stretches from the heart of Old Colorado City, located outside of downtown to the beautiful Garden of the Gods.  Depending on the area, homes range from modest single family to multi-million dollar homes in gated communities.  There are numerous mature neighborhoods sprinkled throughout the West.  Manitou Springs and Old Colorado City offer traditional Victorian homes and quaint shops lining the streets.  Many of the areas have easy access to the major streets without being too near.
