Colorado Springs Real EstateSouthwestSchool District 12 Subdivisions include (Stratton Meadows is in school district 2): Cheyenne Mountain Ranch, Stratton Forest, The Resort, Broadmoor Bluffs, Broadmoor Hills, Penhurst & Broadmoor Oaks, Broadmoor Valley, Broadmoor Hills, Broadmoor Heights, The Broadmoor, Broadmoor Glen, The Reserve, Bear Creek, the Old Broadmoor, Cheyenne Meadows and Cheyenne Hills, Fort Carson, Upper and Lower Skyway. Elevation is 6,200
feet. The afternoons are cooler because these areas are shaded by
Cheyenne Mountain. In addition, Cheyenne Mountain protects the area and
it receives less wind from the west. The homes range from the 1900's to
new. The area is named after the Broadmoor Hotel and includes many
planned neighborhoods on the slopes of Cheyenne Mountain. The older area
near the hotel has 100-year-old, million dollar estates, along with many
up-scale single-family residences. The Broadmoor area is one of the most
picturesque areas in the region, with Cheyenne Mountain to the west.
Skyway, located in the foothills west of the city, offers pleasant
living on the leeward side of the mountains. Lower Skyway consists of
mature, medium priced homes, while Upper Skyway is an exclusive area
with natural surroundings and up-scale executive homes.
Near by is Bear Creek park that has facilities for pet owners,
folks who like to hide horses or those who like to play tennis.
Rock Creek and Red Rock Valley are adjacent to Route 115 and
opposite the Fort Carson Army installation. This area is at the city
edge but far enough from the city so it has appeal as a country living
community. The landmark Broadmoor Hotel has received a five-star ranking
for nearly 40 consecutive years from the Mobil Travel Guide and has been
the recipient of the Five Diamond Award from the American Automobile
Association since the inception of the award. Nestled in the foothills
of Cheyenne Mountain this grand hotel built in 1918 reflects a legacy of
elegance, impeccable service and exquisite cuisine. The Country Club of
Colorado and the three 18 hole golf courses, which are owned by the
Broadmoor Hotel, offer private club opportunities. A new 8,000-seat
world arena was completed in 1997 to provide a venue for Olympic and
commercial events. Large parks and other recreational areas make this a
very desirable living area. | ||||||||||||||
