School District 20 (District 11 in Mountain Shadows & Pinon Valley) Subdivisions include: Rockrimmon, Pine Cliff, Peregrine, Hunters Point, Southface, Bluffside, Twin Oaks Station, Oak Valley, Pinon Valley, Woodmen Oaks, Woodmen Valley, Woodstone, Discovery, Golden Hills and Mountain Shadows.

The elevation is 6,500 ft. which makes the foothills and northern neighborhoods slightly cooler. The homes range from 30 years old to newer, including semi and custom homes.  Many of the homes are nestled against St. Joseph Bluffs or rock croppings throughout the area.  The northwest side is home to the United States Air Force Academy and about 5,000 cadets live in government quarters. Most of the permanent military families live in the surrounding communities. The subdivisions have rolling hills, lots of wildlife and wonderful views of Pikes Peak and the city lights. This area is adjacent to one of the largest shopping complexes, Chapel Hills Mall, located at North Academy Boulevard and Interstate 25. The Northwest is home to much of the technical industry in Colorado Springs and a good amount of local restaurants and unique stores.  The area has a full range of recreational and sports facilities which are private, public and military; the later located on the Air Force Academy.  Ute Valley Park is located centrally in the Northwest along with Garden of the Gods Park.  In addition, The Garden of the Gods Country Club and the Kissing Camels Golf Club provide excellent private golfing, tennis and dining facilities. The northern area of the city features convenient access to downtown and the Denver area.
