BOUNDARIES: Located in the southeast corner of El Paso County and including parts of Pueblo and Lincoln counties. About 26 miles east of Colorado Springs on Colorado Highway 94, then 18 miles south of Yoder.

THIS SCHOOL YEAR: Edison will implement these changes during the 2002-2003 school year:

A new elementary and middle school instrumental music program;
Increase elementary music from once to twice a week;
A new secondary choral program;
A full-time math teacher.

*Edison students typically attend school Tuesday through Friday with Mondays off.

APPROVED CLASS SIZE: The district's school board has not set formal guidelines. Teachers determine class-size limits.

FOREIGN LANGUAGE SPEAKERS: Non-native English-speaking students should contact the district office or Rachel Paul, principal, at 478-2125, for assistance.

CHOICE PROCESS: There is only one school in Edison so in-district choice is not an option. Out-of-district students are admitted if space is available. Contact Rachel Paul, principal, at 478-2125, for information.

TRANSPORTATION POLICY: Busing is provided to students living within the district. Contact the school office or Karen Ogle, school secretary, at 478-2125 for information.

SPECIAL NEEDS STUDENTS: A special education program is available. Please contact the school or Rachel Paul, principal, at 478-2125 for information.

BREAKFAST/LUNCH PROGRAM: Lunch prices are 85 cents for elementary students and $1 for middle and high school students. Breakfast is not available. Families who meet certain income guidelines may quality for free and reduced-price lunches. Applications are available at the school or call Rachel Paul, principal, at 478-2125.

DAY CARE: Not available.

REGISTRATION: New students can register now, 9 a.m.-4 p.m., Tuesday through Friday, at the school. Students should bring a birth certificate, immunization record, Social Security number and name and address of previous school.
