Falcon School District #49 began as a small rural district on the eastern
plains in the late 1800's. It currently is one of the most rapidly growing
districts in the state, covering approximately 133 square miles.
Since 1973, the district has grown from one K-12 school with 250 students
to a district with projected enrollment for the 1998-99 of 5,085 students.
The total K-12 student enrollment is projected to grow between 400-500
students per year over the next six years, resulting in approximately 7,550
students by the year 2003. The district currently has two high schools;
Falcon High, and Sand Creek High. Two middle schools, Falcon Middle and
Horizon Middle, address the educational need of our 6th-8th grade students.
Elementary students attend one of four elementary schools, Falcon
Elementary, Evans Elementary, Stetson Elementary and our newly opened
Remington Elementary. Our highly qualified staff offers each of the
students the opportunity to achieve educational excellence.
Each of the schools offers educational and co-curricular programs that
address the unique needs of the community it serves. Parent involvement is
actively encouraged. Only with schools and communities working together,
can a child be educated in a manner which will allow them to have personal
options in life and to contribute positively to society as a whole.
