Lying within the east and southeast portion of Colorado Springs, Harrison School District 2 includes Pikes Peak Park, Stratton Meadows, Stratmoor Hills,
Stratmoor Valley, Southborough, Deerfield Hills, Panorama Addition, Cheyenne Meadows, Cheyenne Hills, Wildflower and Sand Creek residential divisions.
Currently, thirteen elementary schools, three middle schools, two high schools and one alternative high school serve a district population of approximately
11,000+ students rich in ethnic pride and diverse in economic backgrounds.
In November, 1994, the Harrison District 2 community passed a 25 million dollar bond issue which included construction of one new elementary school,
renovation of/additions to several existing schools, and 6 million dollars devoted to a complete Technology Education transformation across the district which
now provides computers and telephones in every classroom for easy parent access.
Harrison School District 2 leads the state in numerous areas of progressive education, national recognition and model programs: Student Portfolio graduation
requirement, secondary block scheduling, a strong District Mission, Significant Student Outcomes, District Goals and Standards of Performance, Quality
Improvement Management Systems, Technology Education integrated into all learning, Harrison Assessment Academy (determining alternative assessment methods for
all students), Governor's Creativity Award and Commissioner's Challenger Schools designation, Industrial Technology Education laboratories at every middle and
high school facility, computer labs in every building, Headstart and district pre-school programs, counselors in every school, Cooperative Learning,
long-range planning in curriculum and capital improvements, extensive Special Education program, The New Horizons School (alternative high school), sound
fiscal management and an award winning "Attributes for Successful Employability" Level III interactive video disc instruction module designed, developed,
filmed and produced by Harrison School District 2, currently marketed and modeled nationwide.

Every school offers comprehensive programs in academics, art, music, outdoor and physical education, Secondary schools offer intramural, interscholastic and
sanctioned CHSAA extra curricular athletic sports programs.
Harrison School District 2 is extremely proud of a variety of restructuring efforts made at individual schools to meet the needs of students and parents in
