Springs Area School District Information
Lewis-Palmer School District #38
The Lewis-Palmer
School District is situated at the north end of El Paso County, north
of the United States Air Force Academy. The district encompasses Palmer
Lake, Monument, Woodmoor and the northern part of the Black Forest area.
There are five elementary schools, two middle schools and one high school
that serve about 5800 students. A second high school is under construction
and planned to open in August 2008. In addition to the core curriculum,
all district schools offer programs to meet the unique learning needs
of students that qualify for Special Education, Gifted and Talented services
and for those students that speak languages other than English. Indicators
of student learning, as measured by state and national tests, confirm
that District 38 results have been among the highest in the state. Our
high school has a graduation rate of 98.5%. Approximately 85% of the high
school graduates attend universities and colleges after having completed
at least 25 credits for graduation up through the class of 2006, and under
the schedule, 2007 graduates will have completed 25 credits for graduation.
Twenty-two credits are required for a general diploma. The district provides
bus transportation and a hot lunch program for its students. School-sponsored
athletic programs are available for boys and girls at the middle and high
school levels. Additional information about our district can be found
on our website.
